Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 25, 2026

The principle behind our work at HandleKit is quite simple: your data belongs to you. In this policy, we're being clear and transparent about what information we're collecting, what we're doing with it, and what options are available to you. We're trying to write this in plain English instead of hiding behind legalese.

1. Information We Collect

At HandleKit, we follow a "Privacy First" philosophy. Most of our tools, including Password Generator, Word Counter, Text Case Converter, JSON Formatter, URL Encoder, Base64 Encoder, Hash Generator, Color Picker, and Unit Converter, run directly in your browser using JavaScript. Therefore, any information that you type into these tools stays local to your computer and does not get sent to our servers.

For tools that do send information to our servers, like Username Checker, Image Optimizer, and QR Generator, we only send what's necessary to get the task done. We use this information only to perform the requested function and then discard it immediately.

For the JND Color Perception Test (Fun Mode), if you choose to submit your results, we collect your Nickname (Callsign), Score, and Level reached. This information is sent to our server and stored specifically to enable the Global Leaderboard feature.

2. Cookies and Advertisements

We use third-party advertising companies, including Google AdSense, to serve advertisements when you visit our website. These companies may use cookies and tracking technologies (like web beacons) to collect information about your online activities over time and across different websites.

Google's advertising cookies (DSID, IDE) allow for personalized ad targeting. You can opt-out at any time via Google's Ad Settings or the NAI Opt-Out Page. We do not share your personal information with advertisers.

3. Analytics

We may use minimal non-personalizable analytics to understand which tools are popular and how users interact with the site. This allows us to improve HandleKit and prioritize development. Our analytics service will not share your IP address or data with third parties for identifiable reporting.

4. Data Retention

We do not retain a database of your activity for most tools. Server-side operations for processing files create temporary data that is deleted within minutes.

Exceptions apply to the Global Leaderboard, where we retain submitted nicknames and scores indefinitely to maintain the high-score rankings. Additionally, we use LocalStorage in your browser to save your personal game history and preferred nickname locally on your device for your convenience.

5. External Links

We may provide links to external services (GitHub, Reddit, Twitter/X, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube). These services have their own independent privacy policies. HandleKit has no influence over their data handling practices, and we suggest reviewing their policies directly.

6. Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA)

If you are in the EEA or UK, you have rights under GDPR, including access, rectification, and erasure. As we collect minimal data and most tools work locally, there is limited data to which these rights apply. California residents have similar rights under the CCPA; we do not sell personal information.

7. Children's Privacy

We are not directed towards children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided data, please contact us and we will delete it immediately.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may change our Privacy Policy over time. If significant changes occur, we will update the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of HandleKit constitutes acceptance of the changed policy.

9. Your Consent

By using our website, you consent to our Privacy Policy and agree to be bound by its terms.

10. Contact Us

If you have any queries, please contact us at contacthandlekit@gmail.com. We respond within 5 business days.
