Frequently Asked Questions
How do you play the color guessing game online?
The game consists of 5 rounds. A random color will flash on your screen, with the flash time getting shorter every round. Once the color disappears, use the Hue, Saturation, and Lightness sliders to recreate it from memory. Submit your guess to earn points!
How is the guess the colors game score calculated?
Instead of basic RGB math, our game uses an advanced perceptual color memory test engine. Inspired by the excellent work at dialed.gg, we built upon their foundation to create an even more mathematically accurate scoring system. We convert your guess into the modern Oklab perceptual color space, separate it into Lightness, Chroma, and Hue (LCH), and apply custom memory-decay weights. This improved math ensures you are scored on true human perception without artificial hue hacks.
What is a good score on this color memory test?
A perfect game is 50 points (10 points per round). Scoring over 40 points ranks you as a "Master Painter" (roughly the top 15% of players). If you can break 45 points, you have elite "Pantone Vision" and sit in the top 1% globally.
