The game consists of 5 rounds. A random color will flash on your screen, with the flash time getting shorter every round. Once the color disappears, use the Hue, Saturation, and Lightness sliders to recreate it from memory. Submit your guess to earn points!
How is the guess the color score calculated?
Instead of basic RGB math, our game uses advanced color science. It converts your guess into the CIELAB color space and calculates the perceptual distance (Delta E) to the target color. This means the game scores you based on how the human eye actually perceives color differences, rewarding near-perfect visual matches.
What is a good score on the color memory test?
A perfect game is 5,000 points (1,000 points per round). Scoring over 4,000 points ranks you as a "Master Painter" (roughly the top 15% of players). If you can break 4,500 points, you have elite "Pantone Vision" and sit in the top 1% globally.
Does the game feature a global leaderboard?
Yes! At the end of your 5 rounds, you will see a chart comparing your score to the global distribution. You can submit your nickname and final score to our database to see where you rank among top gamers worldwide.
